| This type of search is based on a menu of links one uses to
"drill down" to the item(s) of interest. Yahoo is an example of this type of
search engine. Canadian users should know that Yahoo offers a Canadian version of
its search engine (www.yahoo.ca vs. www.yahoo.com). Consider the following search performed
in both the Canadian and International versions of Yahoo: Health - Diseases - Canada Only
- Cancer - Organizations (www.yahoo.com doesn't offer the Canada Only option). A user who
isn't aware of the BC Cancer Agency would miss this website if he or she relied on the
initial search results provided in the lower half of the figure. Of course, one could use
both versions of Yahoo to broaden one's search.
